IPTANA S.A. was established in 1953, being the first company specialized in studies and design for public works of national interest and with a major role in the development of road, water and air transport infrastructure in Romania.
The most important constructions in this particular field carried out in Romania are labelled “DESIGNED IN IPTANA”.

In almost 70 years of activity in its specialized field, IPTANA has designed about 80% of our national roads, most of the bridges located on these roads and, in the field of maritime and fluvial infrastructure, based on the documents elaborated by IPTANA, are currently operated landing fronts with a total length exceeding 30500 m, with various constructive solutions. The operating capacity achieved in the Romanian river ports under the “IPTANA” brand exceeds 56 million tons/year. Development and modernization projects have been elaborated for all 17 airports in the country.

Owned by private shareholders and presently employing approximately 50 people, IPTANA represents a major player in the Romanian design and consultancy market.

The design and consultancy activity is organized in a Design Department with 3 specialized design teams for motorways, roads, bridges, hydrotechnical projects, airports and civil buildings projects. The multidisciplinary structure of the company ensures our ability to take over and draw up with professionalism and competence any type of studies, technical and economical documentations related to transport constructions, covering all the design phases provided by the national and European legislation in force. IPTANA has the necessary technical equipment, as well as highly qualified and experienced personnel to perform non-destructive tests, topographical surveys related to the road, water and air transport structures. IPTANA also has professionals for the preparation of environmental engineering projects, hydraulic and hydrological studies, calculations and modelling.

The management of S.C. IPTANA S.A. has established an integrated quality, environmental, health and safety strategy, in line with the company’s other strategies, to prove and guarantee the quality of our products and services, along with our continuous concern for environmental protection and human health and safety, which effectively meet the clients’ requirements and expectations in terms of features and performance.

Currently, IPTANA SA is in insolvency proceedings through reorganization with the Reorganization Plan approved by the creditors and endorsed by the syndic judge and we are confident in the successful completion of the proceedings and the company’s return to the top of the Romanian transport infrastructure design and consulting companies.
